“WC” is a venture capital fund founded in 2018, offering an Evergreen model that enables investors to gradually place capital while companies receive resources over time. This approach maximizes growth opportunities while ensuring a profitable and accessible investment vehicle with a significant impact on Mexico’s financial landscape. The project encompassed a responsive web design, along with a downloadable app for iOS and Android.

Design Challenge

Design a platform that enables both individual and institutional investors to register, create, and monitor their investments effortlessly. The product must simplify complex financial processes, ensuring an intuitive and secure user experience, particularly for users with limited knowledge of investing. The platform should address administrative functionalities, meet legal and regulatory requirements, and integrate robust cybersecurity measures to build user trust and transparency.

Given that this is the first venture capital fund of its kind in Mexico, there were no standard practices to follow, only regulations. I identified that users—many of whom were unfamiliar with investment processes—required a system that not only simplified transactions but also provided educational support on key financial terms while building a sense of trust through transparency and simplicity. The following features were the main guidelines for the final design:

Ensuring that all transactions are not only secure but also compliant with the fund’s unique investment model.

  • Aims to prepare future investors to understand the financial world and allow them to value the WC fund themselves.
  • Monitored by MouseFlow and GA4 for continuous optimization; designed for WordPress.

Launched 2022. Permanence increased by 524% compared to previous version.

Web app, designed for the primary user age (55-65) and the younger audience (28-35).

  • UI designed to easily upload all requirements for registration, subjected to profile approval with KYC filters, as well as automated investment requests and ROI projections.
  • Monitoring bridged with the fund managers’ monthly feedback.

Mobile app for IOS and Android devices featuring 35+ optimizations in the sign up process and 10+ automations in the investments tab.

  • Created to expand the target age range and quicker access to their account details. The registration requirements are now easier to control and the investing requests are down to a 1 step process.
  • The UX journey is already prepared for V 1.1, V 1.2 and V 1.3 as the product’s stability progresses after the first launch. Designed for custom code using React Native
